Hi Perfect Owl,

Yes still using and literally just got back from the gym where I explained it to someone I was working out on bench press with.

Regarding choosing weight for first time — don’t overthink it. Just take a guess at what weight you can lift 7–8 times, ,and then start with that.

You can make adjustments mid-set….example at rep 5, if it’s clear it’s going to be too much lower the weight as quickly/safely as you can and continue.

If it’s too light, sometimes I’ll just increase the reps if adjusting weight is too hard. Example — at rep 5 series, if it’s clear it’s too easy I might do 7 reps instead of 6, and 8 reps to finish instead of 7.

The main benefit here is combining lactic acid/metabolic waste build up along with mechanical tension..so there’s no hard magic about getting the weight perfect to where you are about to fail at rep 7 on that series for example.

Also, the more you work with it the better you’ll be able to estimate your weights so it’s gets easier in that regards, and as noted, you can make mid-set adjustments.

Hope that helps!
